Re: Old RSO Frequencies
I believe Palm Desert was on Channel 7. CLEMARS was on CH9 and used as a C/C in the Elsinore/Temecula area. CH 14 154.100R was a county roads channel used in the PM and on weekends by Southwest Station. Also CH 8 was MoVal and Ch 2 was C/C also but don't remember the freq.

Re: RSO EDACS LCN?
one more thing after re-reading your post, when there is any type of emergency call, the main dispatch channel is typically restricted to emergency traffic only. This may be why you hear less of other type of traffic. So units not involved with the emergency may go to channel 5 to talk to a dispatch...

Re: RSO EDACS LCN?
I think your reference to "channel 5" is actually a talk-group within the trunking system (5-xcnty or 5 cross county; 02-062 or 306), which is the records channel for the north end of the county. It is not a separate frequency, you simply have to monitor the west system (or any system for ...

Re: Callsign Designators
Brandon- Ever since the inmate escapes last month in the Indio area, all RSO transport runs have been logging in with dispatch. R-C (RPDC), S-C (Southwest Jail), I-C (Indio Jail). I believe B-C is for Banning Jail (Smith Correctional Facility), but haven't heard this designator used yet. I have no i...

Re: Callsign Designators
I would agree. Code enforcement may use this designator however they are not part of RSO. There are a couple of designators missing from the list that RSO does use: TARGET, ACADEMY, and CIVIL. Target is used for special enforcement teams that "target" high crime areas or certain crimes. Mo...

Re: Pacific Fire Guard
Yeah I am familiar with who they are and what they do. These were definitely HT's, but likely just scanning.

Pacific Fire Guard
Anyone have info on this new, upcoming company? I was at In-N-Out in Temecula today and saw two FF eating lunch. They both had HT's with very long antennas (much longer than standard VHF). What caught my attention, was CAL FIRE toning out a call. I don't imagine these guys are dispatched by CAL Fire...

Re: Truck Co
I just saw truck 73 in Temecula and it looks like a brand new truck, it is a 75' ladder, not the hook and ladder I saw a couple of weeks ago. Anyone know if this is just a relief truck or did they replace the old hook and ladder?
