Re: New Uniden BCD536HP Owner here...
Hi John, Yes, I've managed to get the scanner configured. I decided on the BuTel ARC536 software suite. It allowed me to easily import items from Radio Reference database in the the scanner. It also offers logging and virtual control. I haven't had much time lately to use the scanner, however, the l...

New Uniden BCD536HP Owner here...
Hello, I'm anxiously waiting for FedEx to deliver my scanner. I have a few questions to get me up and running as quick as possible. I'm well aware of the ease of setting up the scanner, however, my questions are more along the lines of interfacing the scanner to a PC. Specifically, I'd like to hear ...

Re: Old EDACS system in use tonite by FICC
I heard a small bit of traffic tonight from "San Bernardino" units. The only radio ID is I was able to log was 9204.

Finally had a chance to monitor EDACS last night and didn't hear anything... Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Re: Old EDACS system in use tonite by FICC
Coruptr, AFS 04-143, DEC 627. I haven't heard anything at all this evening, though. From the voice traffic I heard, I gather the agency (BLM Rangers is my theory) only use EDACS when in certain geographical areas; yesterday when they were busy, I heard several times "on 800" at the end of...

Re: Old EDACS system in use tonite by FICC
Hey sp, what is the tg id for FICC? Looking at the info on RR I don't see it - nor do I have it programmed into my radio.
A bit off topic, RPD has been extra busy today... Had a bit of downtime at work and listened to them all day they were running calls all over the place.

Re: RCPD Channel 3 encrypted?
Interesting. I know a lot of the newest radios they have been purchasing are the Harris Unity multi band units (which don't support ADP, but do support AES-256 and DES-OFB) so it would be surprising to me if they were using the Motorola proprietary ADP. It appears my information is a bit more dated...

Re: RCPD Channel 3 encrypted?
I know that Channel 7 is digital and encrypted. Correct, some transmissions are encrypted using ADP software encryption. When RPD transitions fully to P25 they will be using DES-OFB (not confirmed - rumor only) on all channels. One of the current rumors is this will occur EOQ1. I've also heard anot...
