Re: New CHP Radio System
I hope this isn't too far out of this website's area, but I'm sure some members commute from Riverside to Orange County: Yesterday Indio CHP was testing Blue-2 Border -East on 44.98 Mhz. Reception was good on the Orange County/L.A. County line in SE L.A. County, near Cal State Long Beach. Today, CHP...

Re: West System Transmitter Site and Takgroups.
No doubt Santa Rosa has a small footprint by design; insamuch as that site has the potential to cover a large area and cause interference with other parts of the system. I can receive El Centro CHP on Santa Rosa though; but that's low band for you.

Re: West System Transmitter Site and Takgroups.
Thanks for the info. I haven't had any luck with Santa Rosa, likely due to distance. From my monitoring it is clear that all the western county systems are tied into the West System.

Re: West System Transmitter Site and Takgroups.
Thanks for the info. I was hoping, off chance, the Desert System was connected to the West System. Both the Central and South Systems definitely are heard at all times on the West System. BTW, I only have the West System frequencies plugged in. I haven't had any luck receiving either the South or Ce...

West System Transmitter Site and Takgroups.
I monitor the West System from S/E Long Beach, near the OC line. I've noticed the transmitter sites can change during broadcasts. The change in sites, and the resultant signal strength, is probably not noticeable in the west Riverside county area due to good signal saturation. Is there a primary sit...

West System Transmitter Location
Is there a West System transmitter on Sierra Peak. Is it normally used during West System transmissions? If not, what is the Westernmost radio site for that system that would carry most of the radio traffic? I want to erect a beam and point it from the east border of Long Beach to the West System si...

Re: New CHP Radio System
OK, maybe it will happen a year later than expected, but CHP recently licensed 44.98Mhz at: Chuckwalla PK; Black Metal Mtn.; Iron Mountain; Snow Peak; Hemet and Toro Peak. I don't know if this will be the RED or the BLUE channel. I heard there have been some interference problems with planned freque...

Re: CHP Inland and Bord Division Changeover
Unfortunately, I don't follow those areas, so I can't be much help in that regard.

CHP Inland and Bord Division Changeover
Word has it CHP will start the changeover next month. Indio CHP has been issued new licenses, so they are about ready to changeover. Border Red-2 45.04B, 42.58M; Blue-2, Border 45.18B, 42.66M; Border Blue-2, Border-1 39.14B, 42.04M; PL 94.8. I don't know how the two Blue channels will be assigned. T...
