The radios are capable of encryption, which would prevent non-law enforcement personnel from listening in..

I have a Pro 107 I live in Hemet and I get Banning and just about everything else around Hemet & Fire, RSO, the Casino I upgraded my antenna to a 800MHZ from the Shack and you can tell the difference.
