The charger in the Uniden scanners is time based. The charging ends when the set time has elapsed. The charger does not monitor the voltage of the batteries and has no idea how long the batteries should be charged. This results in undercharging or overcharging which are both bad for the batteries.

I have 2 Unidens and a GRE. The digital decoding on the Unidens is extremely poor compared to the GRE.

Radio Reference is a handy resource but it does have a huge downside. It has reduced the traffic on some very good regional scanner websites to the point they lose their relevance and their owners interest in maintaining them.

I woke up about 3AM one morning and before falling back asleep I heard a radio test that patched SD Co. RCS to a Riverside system. This allowed a Carlsbad PD unit talk to a Riverside unit in Menifee.
