Re: Menifee city

Heh, thats funny. Until now, my address was in Romoland, but my ZIP often came up on company computers as Sun City. So I would tell people I live in the Romoland/Sun City/Menifee area.

Re: Comments: Radio Shack 800Mhz Antenna

Is it one of those little rubber ones for the top of a hand-held scanner that has '800Mhz' printed on it? Those things are awsome... I own several and I am not a fan of any Radio Shack products.

(They lost the car for a while and then found it empty... susp got away... I believe it was stolen) With regard to calls on/around the res: in the light of the trouble R...

Re: Sheriff's conventional TAC channels...

There are several uses for them, one that comes to mind are could use one of these TACs to work an incident where radio coverage through the EDACS system may not be very good. The motor offi...

Re: Border Patrol...

BP is conventional VHF-high, mostly encypted. You cant really monitor anything unless they use CLEMARS for something, and that's rare.

Correct. Trunking systems do not use PL/DPL.

Re: RSO radio's when system goes down...

That is correct. The Orions are control stations (mobile radios, actually) installed on the consoles for air entry into the trunked system when the consoles are down. It's a common (and very good) practice seen in most dispatch centers. BTW, In SB County, they're referred to as "doomsday"...
