Re: Federal logs - Coachella Valley to Phoenix on I-10
My info was based on what someone who worked at the time for DHS doing secret squirrel electronic stuff, who said CBP was all in the clear. That may well have changed, as that was 2010. I have had the ENC symbol come up on my 396T for many channels and the "Grinding Glass" encryption soun...

Re: Federal logs - Coachella Valley to Phoenix on I-10
Some radios used by CBP do not have the encryption mode "Strapped" where it's secure all the time. The secure mode is on a toggle switch on the radio that is sometimes disabled on accident or on purpose, or the key has been lost. It could also be that some channels do not require secure vo...

From what I heard, It's back up and in service on North Mountain. It will be used as an occasional area tactical or special use for RSO.

Re: ERICA P25 System
Just those selected desert cities will go ERICA. The County and City areas contracted by Sheriff will eventually switch to 700MHz PSEC. This system will also have 800MHz Type II Smartzone, P25 Trunking and Conventional capability if needed. I am not sure what Murrieta, Corona, Hemet, City of Riversi...

They should still be on the Blythe System. The radio traffic out there is minimal though.

Re: 154.100 110.9
Thanks, I used to listen to RSO in the late 80s in Elsinore on my Pro-31; Those were the innocent days of scanning! Didn't they carry Motorola VHF MX-300/350s? (No shoulder mics mind you), they would pull it out of this large leather carry holster to talk on it LOL. Yeah, its too bad a lot of those ...

Re: 154.100 110.9
FYI,
This used to be the old RSO Channel 14 (Elsinore/Temecula) that they switched to in the evenings.
I'm also looking for the old RSO VHF channel list from the 80s if anyone has one. The radio shack in Lake Elsinore (MJM Electronics) used to have a list.
