Re: Perris Skydiving
Hi Brandon, I thought I was the only one who tried to re-confirm my frequency list every year. Hell of a job. 122.775 is still being used for the Perris jump zone warning. While we're on that subject, I came across something interesting earlier this week. While scanning the Milcom freqs I have progr...

PSR-500/ PSR-600
Does anyone on the list use either of these radios? I'm currently using Pro-97's but I've been wanting to upgrade to something digital. I have the opportunity to pick up a couple of these for $200 each, brand new and still in the box, but I know nothing about them. I have no clue how they work, I've...

Re: Skip seems to be in....
sp, I can remember when low band skip was so good you couldn't make out one station from another, there were so many transmissions coming in at once. I started my FD career as a volunteer in NJ in the 1960's. Most rural FD's were using low band then. When I moved to soCal in the 70's and the skip wa...

Re: Orange County Police Departments CANNOT be Monitored!
In the past 7 - 10 years I've logged the following TG's: 6256 TAN call - this is where a unit or agency will initiate contact and switch to either an agency or other TAN TG. 6288 TAN north 6320 TAN south - OCFA uses this with UCI PD when they respond onto the UCI campus. I've also heard OCFA use thi...

Re: 155.205 mhz user?
sp, 155.205 is still in use by Doctor's Amb in OC. They did stop using it a few years ago and went to 152.99. After a year or so they were back on 155.205 and are still using that with a PL of 156.7. My logs show that 155.205 is also used by AMR in the Palm Springs area with a PL110.9. If you can ge...

Re: Advice for a newbie please.
Hello, I am new to scanning and want to get into it. I'm looking for purchase advice for my first scanner. I tried to use the forum search and it didn't pull anything up. What I'm looking for is something portable and has the ability to scan the following departments: -Murrieta Fire -Riverside City...

Re: Orange County Police Departments CANNOT be Monitored!
Sorry this reply is late, I was gone the entire month of October. The only in the clear comms on OC's TRS are: all FD's all ALS some of the TAN TG's are in the clear, but they're only used for radio checks and initial contact, then they switch to an encrypted TG. As a side note, you can still monito...

Re: 369.90 mhz ZLA
This is L.A. Center's ultra high freq used for aircraft flying above 60K.
Oakland Center uses 296.7 for the same purpose, as does Albuquerque Center (321.3).
Not heard very often, but some interesting comms.
