Re: Another Failure

There are jail talkgroups on the RCS. Yes, for operations external to the individual facilities. There is one jail talkgroup on the RCS that was set up for for countywide LE units to contact the sally port of the County Jail downtown when bringing in prisoners. It sits idle most of the time. The th...

Re: Another Failure

So the stand-alone system then is more like a fill-in to provide coverage to the portables in the jail buildings. 'Fill-in' implies that they are part of a wide area network (and can communicate with units outside of the facility). The jail systems are totally stand-alone (no connection with the mo...

Re: Another Failure

So will the jail system be stand-alone, or will it be interconnected to the RCS? The Jail systems are stand-alone and not interconnected. The RCS operates as a partnership between the County and the other using entities. The operating cost is shared among the partners. The acquisition and operating...

Re: Another Failure

800, I always thought that System 71 was to replace the RCS and that jails were using it for now. I realize I am in error. Not a problem. The next generation RCS will continue to be primarily on 800 MHz (as it stands now), with the County's facility-specific systems such as the jails operating on 7...

I believe you may be in error.

System 71 is a 6 channel EFJohnson P25 trunked system located at, and providing coverage for, the County's four detentions facilities that are co-located on Otay Mesa.

Re: Another Failure

Answering a couple of different messages here ... OC has done it even including Santa Ana (the county seat). San Diego County, while it doesn't include San Diego City, built out the RCS for interoperability and everyday comms. Now what they should do is interconnect the San Diego TRS with the RCS so...

Re: FSP Gone?

I wonder where the repeater is. T-Band licenses are not typically granted for base stations more than 50 miles from L.A. City Hall. Some hilltops that serve the Inland Empire are within the 50 mile rule, but even so, T-band mobiles are not supposed to be operating in more than a 30 mile radius of t...

Re: 46.24 user

@ 800: Thanks for the list of freqs. I have most of them but have never heard anything except for the following: 32.015 Riverside City Electric Utility (this might be 32.01. I just found it a couple of months ago on a search, haven't been able to monitor often enough to nail it down). 45.28 Riversi...

The only locally active 33mhz freqs I'm aware of other than the fast food drive-up windows are: 33.5 Riverside County Disaster Net 33.85 an unidentified FD in north San Diego County 33.92 Riverside County Disaster Net There are still some local LG users going up the band (37, 45~48mhz) and of cours...
