As far as I know, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire allows tours. I don't know if there an age restriction. Just call the command center and ask.

Re: Unit Name
Stations 33 and 76 have "water rescue" units which are basically squads outfitted with water rescue equipment. They follow the truck company on any water rescue incident. During these storms, the water rescue units are staffed and trucks 17, 33, 76, 86 have extra staffing who are swift wat...

Re: Unit Name
Ok i am out of riverside co and saw a county that had a Bt on the back of the unit. I saw it on my way to sd co in imp co. Are you saying you saw a Riverside County Fire vehicle with "BT" or a different county vehicle with that designation? The only thing I could imagine it would be would...

Re: Riverside Co Fire Questions
I have 2 questions. #2 when a unit is on a call and jump on the freeway do they shut down code all the way? (no noise or lights) i know why no noise but why no lights? Running code on the freeway actually becomes more of a hazard then not running code. Drivers pay more attention to the engine then ...

Re: Pacific Fire Guard
This is a private company that goes around to houses and sprays a fire retardant type gel on the house to help protect it from a vegetation fire. The homeowner pays for this service. It is not associated with any fire department. They are freelancing outside the incident command system. Whether this...

Re: Truck Co
Those line ups look correct although just to clarify for people that don't know, T233 is a reserve truck and not a front line piece of apparatus. I heard a rumor that sometime in the future, a truck will be added to station 35. There was also supposed to be a truck at new station 97 in Lake Elsinore...

Re: RRU repeater locations
I forgot that I had downloaded the 2006 radio call plan with all the Cal Fire mountain tops. Rereading this post I remembered it.
RRU1 tone 6 is Mt Edna. There isn't a RRU1 tone 5. Tone 7 is Santiago Peak. Whitewater is not on the map. RRU3 is a RVC county freq. so no info on the map.

Re: Cal Fire Blythe Station 45
Blythe airport was an Army air base years ago. It was never a Cal Fire air attack base. That is probably why the "air base" designation.

Re: CDF ENGINE ASSIGNMENTS
I think most of these are right but there could be some wrong ones. Station 28/29 have an additional engine each but I don't remember the numbers. Station 83 will also be staffing a county dozer during fire season. Unknown how it will be numbered. Cal Fire Station- 1- E3171, E3176 10- E3173, E3175 1...
