Re: Mass shooting in San Bernardino, 12/02/15

The day of the incident, I heard some patching taking place on NW CALL talkgroup in PSEC. This might be a good time to scan the federal bands for new activity. Occasional helicopter video on 99.2W Sat - 11894.000 MHz Horizontal pol. symbol rate 6900 K/s, video on Program 2. Here are some screen capt...

Re: 3048.4 US Navy

Comms active right now at 0040Z. My antenna is a Wellbrook ALA1530S+

Here is how it sounded here the other day.
Rec-3.0484MHz_15-11-09_03'51'07.mp3

Unfortunately 3 megs is pretty noisy for me with a high amount of local RFI.

3048.4 US Navy

There has been a US Navy net on 3048.4 kHz USB for the past few days. Foxtrot Whiskey, Lima, Oscar and others. Very good signals here suggests the activity is SoCal based.

I have been hearing one of them identifying as Star 97 since around Sept or so.

Re: Milair band sweep in 1.5 seconds

Yep it should work fine on other SDR setups. The speed depending on how much bandwidth you can view at a time.

I am using an AirSpy as well. I also have a HackRF but I prefer the AirSpy performance. Seems to handle strong signal environments better.

Milair band sweep in 1.5 seconds

Found this interesting video posted by mancow of RadioReference forums. Using an AirSpy paired with SDR# and the Frequency Scanner plugin you can set up a bandscan of the entire UHF milair range (225-400 MHz) in 1.5 seconds and less. Video of it in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkf6kv8yWdg...

Re: 11175 khz

Noticed lately that the HFGCS ground stations are using rotating callwords instead of their usual Andrews, McClellan, Offutt, etc. Right now sound like they are using Sing Song as the call.

Ice 04, Mac Center and Base Ops on 261.725 FM voice (via satcom) talking about conditions at Pegasus Field in Antarctica.

Good signal here in Riverside County.
