Re: Out of Area Question
I don't live near there, but maybe this will help? It's from Radioreference. Please be aware that all 800MHz frequencies used in San Diego between 851.0000 and 865.9875MHz are assigned from the SPLINTER bandplan. This means they are offset by 12.5kHZ (e.g., 856.0125 is not used, instead 856.0000 is ...

Re: Riverside CHP Freq?
Thanks SP1989 for the info!! Crystals? Man my Dad used to take me down to our local Radio Shack and buy me new crystals and Radio Call Freq book. I would look forward to them on Holidays or Birthday gift for my Bearcat scanner. Do you remember Betty Bearcat scanner Freq book back in the day? How ab...

Re: Riverside CHP Freq?
SKIP I find the crystal scanners are really good for skip versus the programmable ones Now there's a blast from the past. Does anyone make crystals anymore? I bet a lot of people reading this have no idea what we're talking about. I had a 10 channel Bearcat crystal scanner set up for LAPD's VHF Tac...

Re: Riverside CHP Freq?
The fire signal was overloading the radio, because the repeater was like a block away. The attenuator reduced the signal so the radio could process it. But it also made other signals too weak when it was on and I couldn't hear them anymore. So I got rid of the radio, never buy anything when it first...

Re: Riverside CHP Freq?
I had that problem years ago when I lived in LA. LAFD used to be on 33.7 mhz, and it came in all distorted or not at all. Turns out I was really close to their repeater site. I had an AOR wide band scanner which had an attenuator, once I switched it on, it came in fine. It was only the AOR that was ...

Re: Riverside CHP Freq?
It's working fine right now, I'm listening to CHP with just the duck on my Pro-97. I'm getting all the usual IE stuff I usually do. Are you sure it's not your radio?

Re: Just got my new scanner
The iScan is supposed to have the ENTIRE RadioReference database programmed into it already, I can't imagine that it's lacking for freqs if that's the case. maybe a good antenna would help, or trying different areas close to Banning instead of just Banning. I was able to pick up everything you menti...

Re: Threats broadcast on police, fire radios
Crikey! What a nightmare! That's the guy that posts on here and his wife. In fact, I think he posted about him and his spouse sleeping with scanners going in the background....I guess that's what happens when you OD on scanner listening. That's too bad. I sure hope Dianne Feinstein doesn't get wind ...

Re: RSO/Perris Dispatch
I seem to remember 14 as the cut off for RSO, it might be different for Fire, plus it depends on who you know as well.

Re: RSO/Perris Dispatch
RSO is pretty friendly when it comes to tours of their facilities, especially if it is for a prospective employee (hint, hint). As long as you are not a parolee it should be fine (not that I think you are). Just call up the place you want a tour of and inquire, I'm sure you'll be happy.
