I just turned on my radio (Pro-97) and the site seems to be working fine. I don't think every freq is used all the time depending on how busy the system is.

I fell asleep again about 0600, just turned the radio back on, this is still active on 460.175 right now, sounds like entry into a res is about to happen.

I know Rat Shack offers that service, but based on my interaction with their sales staff, most of them couldn't find their ass with a 12 man search party, let alone program a trunking scanner. JMHO....

Not working or switched to another freq? I punched it in after reading your post, nada. Will check some of the other non-trunked RSO 800 freqs to see if it was moved for some reason. They do that once in a while,like with the jail non-trunked freq.

I don't know about the PL tone, but I show 151.805 simplex as Menifee Union School District. Also 151.865.

Electronic Confinement is an office at Smith Correctional Facility. Besides going out to get lunch, I don't think they go into the field, thus no radio designator. Are you sure you are not hearing BC instead of EC? BC is the official RSO designator for Banning Corrections aka SCF.

I think they wasted a lot of money by equipping the correctional facilities, jail maintenance, nurses, etc. with trunked radios. They could have kept their 460 mhz system, just replacing the old HT's with some new type on the same band. Instead they insisted EVERYONE switch over to the new system. O...

Gee that brings back memories! My parents used to drive to Phoenix every summer on vacation back in the early 50's. One of the highlights was passing by Blythe airport, as there were a bunch of P-38 Lightning fighters lined up there, baking in the sun. And don't forget the fruit inspection station!
