No prob.
I only remember because I spent a day doing structure protection in that neighborhood during the Sawtooth Fire in ~2005. It was like a blast furnace out there and the only shade to be found was under the open compartment doors on the engine........

Re: East Hemet
I remember reading that some years ago, there was a double-murder of deputies (can't remember their names) in the Cabazon-Hemet area. Paul Haugen and James Warren Lehmann, Jr. http://www.odmp.org/officer/14847-deputy-sheriff-michael-paul-haugen One of the off ramps from the 10 Frwy in Cabazon was r...

Re: Medics
Slim chance. It's a long story but here is the basic explanation: "H&S Section 1797.201 allows existing cities and fire districts that provided care prior to June 1, 1980 to continue services and retain administration of prehospital services." -From the CalEMSA website. Most Riverside ...

Re: R.R.U. 2
RRU 2 is mainly used for veg fires. Particularly those with significant potential and threatening State Responsibility Area (SRA). RRU 2 is licensed by the State, IIRC, where as RVC commands are licensed to the County.

Re: RVC Fire CMD freqs
I wouldn't say it's a "copycat". It's more along the lines of conforming to the FIRESCOPE/California standard.
AFAIK, the support nomenclature is unique to CALFire. The Command/Tac model is used by most agencies and on incidents (including CALFire) throughout California.

Re: Incidents with Multiple Supports
Units can communicate amongst each other on Support Nets, but for them, it's line of sight, just like the Tac's, so they have to be close to each other.
The Tac channels are licensed for mobile/portable use only, so the ECC can't transmit and are likely not able to listen on the tac's.

Re: October 9th - 2012 Riverside Radio Rodeo
Not too much from the listener's perspective. There was quite a variety of agencies that participated. LACoFD, LASD and OrCo were involved in addition to Riverside County agencies. The main goal of the event is to make sure that everything works the way it's supposed to. I will share that things did...

Re: October 9th - 2012 Riverside Radio Rodeo
The main goal of the rodeo is to test interoperability between the various agencies and to showcase equipment PSEC is not on the agenda this year and probably won't be anytime soon, since a trunked, digital, encrypted, X2-TDMA system doesn't play into the whole idea of interoperability very well. :)...

Re: Orange Co. Control 1 VHF
Probably not likely for several reasons. Riverside County would have to be licensed to use that system. It's not designed for EOC-EOC communications and there are a few, more robust systems that are designed for EOC's and Dispatch centers. Systems such as intercom systems and satellite phones that f...

Re: Orange Co. Control 1 VHF
It's a simulcast system. I believe one of the sites is on Santiago, which would give it very good coverage throughout So Cal. Palm Desert is pretty impressive, though.
