Re: New Radios System

Making corrections switch to the EDACS system was one of the biggest wastes of time, money and equipment imaginable. Jails used to have a perfectly wonderful UHF radio system that used reliable (and cheap) HTs with 6 channels, 3 repeated and 3 simplex. But when the EDACS system came on line, some u...

Re: CHP Inland and Bord Division Changeover

Great information and thank you. I will plug them in and report any testing. Any new change over for the city of Corona/Riverside area yet? Corona and Riverside are part of the Riverside area office dispatched on Turquoise-1 out of Inland Communications Center. All areas dispatched out of Inland CC...

Here is a quote from the CalSIEC Southern Planning Area meeting minutes: Robert Stoffel – Riverside County Sheriff’s Department put together a proposed plan, with thoughts of how we might make this a SPA event. Re: 453.3 User

Cal State San Bernardino Police also provide dispatching for Chaffey Community College District Police, which is probably why you heard a Rancho fire unit. Chaffey police dispatch is a talkgroup on the San Bernardino County System 6/7. As of a few months ago they were patching this talkgroup to Cal ...

Re: San Bernardino 700 MHz

None of the traffic I have heard so far has been encrypted.

San Bernardino County is supposed to be migrating System 9 users to a digital system sometime before June 2012. Whether or not this system is to be System 9's digital replacement remains to be seen.

Re: San Bernardino and other counties

I've noticed the typical usage for System 6/7 is: 6-Fire-1 = Command/Response for valley areas west of and including Rialto 6-Fire-2 = Dispatch for all valley areas 6-Fire-3 = Command/Response for valley areas east of Rialto 6-Fgnd-1 = Fireground tactical for valley areas west of and including Rialt...

Re: CHP Borders

The Riverside office's entire southern border is State Route 74, stretching from the Orange County line to somewhere east of I-215. Riverside handles everything north of, and I believe Temecula handles everything on SR-74 and south of. One of these days I may be able to give you a more definite answ...
