Re: RSO Patch talk groups QUESTION..

Yeah this tends to be a problem with the GRE scanners. They do not handle patches as good as Uniden, so you pretty much have to scan until you find the right one since they're pretty random. My Pro-97 is the same way. Uniden scanners automatically detect the patch from monitoring the main channel, s...

Re: Using Pro96

Pro-96 is a great scanner, especially when someone gives you one :D As for programming, you will need 2 things: PC interface cable available from RadioShack and a program called Win96 (free for 30 days). I have a P96 data file for Riverside County that you are welcome to use and modify to suit your ...

Re: Lake Elsinore/Menifee area...

I would program the CTCSS if possible, but it's not required to hear traffic. Entering the PL tone allows the scanner to filter out third party traffic on the same frequency. For example you may hear San Gabriel PD on the same freq as Riverside PD if you don't program the PL tone for RPD in your sca...

Unknown RSO callsign designators

There are some callsign designators heard on the RSO talkgroups that have me stumped and am hoping somebody may be able to help.

"E-S"
"H-D"
"Zebra"

Does anybody know who or what these units are? I would like to add them to the list if possible.

Re: Murrieta PD?

Murrieta PD uses their own frequencies (non-trunked).

860.2375 D244 Police Dispatch
859.4375 D331 Police Ch-2
858.2375 D423 Police Ch-3

They can patch in with the RSO on talkgroup 04-125 / 613 on the Southwest cell, but it's not very active.

Re: 154.100 110.9

Ahhhh yes, I totally forgot about RVC Command 1. Strangely enough this is the first time I've noticed a PL tone being used on this freq. When I last heard RVC Command 1 a few months ago, it was CSQ on the output. Thanks for the info.

154.100 110.9

Can anybody confirm if this frequency: [154.100R 110.9 Hz] is being used in the city of Indio? I've logged medical traffic on this freq from my listening post in the western county. For example: "Medic 286 available from JFK returning to Station 86" so it leads me to believe its coming fro...

Re: Nice Job Brandon!

If your referring to the UHF freq (463.525) I suspect it might be Town and Country. They use callsigns such as "TC-xx" (xx = number) so it would be a good guess I suppose. One of these days I'll watch the CHP CAD and see if I can match the traffic up to confirm. Let me know what you think.
