The County of Riverside is building a new voice and data communications system to replace the current aging 800 MHz system. RSO will be the main user of the new system which will be a digitally encrypted trunked system for them. Fire will use the data portion of it while keeping the current voice ch...

Is this used for voice or data traffic? I can see where it could be data like for AVL. Does AMR Desert Use VHF? It depends on the situation. Since some supports radio coverage can overlap, some engines can respond on a different support then their normal support channel and hear all traffic from Perris. Other stations will need to respond on their normal support channel and as they get closer to an incident, ...

As for the desert, there are paramedics at almost every FS. AMR dispatches for Palm Springs and maybe DHS if I know correctly. Blythe has its ambulance service dispatched by Riverside Medics or something like that. They may have AMR units deployed in all those unincorporated areas. I am not sure if...
