Re: Pro-197
Will The Pro-197 Pickup The RSO I-Call Talkgroups I Know It Gets Phase-1. Brother Ed I ditto what everybody else says for this. First you need a Phase 2 scanner to even pick up the PSEC. Then, even with that, there is no possible way to hear RSO as they are now a fully encrypted agency. It will wor...

Re: Riverside City Animal Control
I believe they are on the PSEC and encrypted. Unless the city had its own which I doubt because the county has always provided AC services.highway97 wrote:This Used To Be on 800 System Were Is Animal Control Now ?

Software defined radio. It's a TV tuner the size of a thumb driver that plugs into a computer USB port. With the right software, you can have a phase II scanner for $20. Experimenting with the digital and scanning next, if all goes well a HF converter too. http://www.rtl-sdr.com/adsb-aircraft-radar...

Re: Advice for a newbie please.
I don't, but scanners that are simple and take the least amount of time to program. You should have 10 banks that can hold up to 50 channels each. When you press Prog (or whatever it says), select the location and enter the frequency. Like I said I am more high tech in that sense but do study the ma...

Re: SDR
After much debating, I decided to get a SDR dongle for ADSB tracking of airplanes. I got it in the mail today, and after a minimum of computer installation, it is working and I am getting transmissions from aircraft a fair distance away with the little whip antenna that came with it. Using rtl1090 ...

Re: Alerts
With that said, does that mean the San Diego City Police and Fire radios have RCS police/fire/ambulance mutual aid programmed in as well?
