I didn't mean to put it on the air. I meant for you to put a piece of it on your coffee table. You DO have a coffee table, don't you?

Re: Cal Fire on UHF?

There was a UHF link for the old Support 8 from Thomas I believe. I don't have the freq in front of me now but that's probably it. I cannot receive that from here though to confirm. Try listening to the paired frequency 5 MHz up. There was/is a link from Perris to Thomas Mtn for the Support 8 frequ...

Re: Old EDACS system off the air

I bet the desert site is also offline. Miss the EDACS system! It's been off the air for a long time, now. But if you miss it so much, why don't you buy a piece of it: http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/all,ca/browse/cataucs?catid=201 Scroll about half way down the page. They have it listed by site!

Re: Blythe Police Channel 155.925

On RR I see that channel named "Blythe PD Mesa." Not sure what that's supposed to mean as I thought police forces utilize CLEMARS. Your question makes no sense. What is it you're asking for? Sure, police forces CAN use CLEMARS, but that doesn't mean they HAVE to. The City of Blythe has it...

Federal agencies are not licensed through the FCC. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration handles that. NTIA frequency assignments are classified.

Re: RSO interop testing with SDSO on RCS

The patch is that - a console patch from a RCS talkgroup to a PSEC talkgroup. I'm curious what the transmission path is. Did they ever put in a microwave link between the counties, or are they doing it via air-entry across the two systems? There was talk of a mw link for years, probably from Elsino...

Well, sort of. They're still building it. There's a whole lot that doesn't even exist to test yet. A whole lot...

Re: Who Uses What System?

Riverside County also has varrying terrain. You got desert, mountains, and lakes. The Coachella Valley, for example, is so low with all the mountains surrounding it that maybe the PSEC should be broken down... One thing that will happen in these discussions will be a conflict in the definition of t...

Re: Temecula CHP on 39.340

The trunked systems I know don't use any frequencies below the standard VHF public safety band. It's just not practical. let's see... 1. Filters, TX combiners and duplexers for low band are huge and expensive. 2. Frequency management and licensing for multiple repeaters can be difficult at low band...
