Corona PD transmitting in the clear.

Post by anon-e-mouse »

You can hear Corona PD transmitting on their legacy simplex system 154.755 for the past 4+ hours. Their voice sounds digital so sounds like they patched into their legacy system for unknown reasons and unknown duration.

As of May 29th, 9:30am Corona still utilizing their old "Blue" channel which is not encrypted. About 30min ago they went to assist Jurupa units and went onto Jurupa 1 which means they still have access to the RSO system but are utilizing their own non-encrypted radio system for their own dispatch.

Reasoning and duration still unknown.

I just got off the phone with Corona PD. They are still on the Riverside County PSEC system but have their primary dispatch channel patched over to VHF due to some coverage issues in the McKinley area. Their working on resolving some of the issues and expect it to take 6-12 months before they turn off the patch.
