AMR on NXDN

Post by scanfaned »

I know it has been a couple of months since AMR in Riverside County switched to NXDN/DMR. Just wondered if anyone is monitoring them with a TRX-1, TRX-2, SDS100 or Unication? If so, how do they sound?

I can't really address your question, as I don't have a digital-capable receiver. I did, however, want to comment that even though their primary dispatch freqs of 155.265R / 155.91 mob are digital, their repeater on 452.6875 PL103.5 is still analog.

Is that 155.265 frequency specific to Riverside City and also the UHF repeater with it?

Okay, my bad. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I meant 155.295, not 155.265.

Before the transition to digital, AMR used 155.295 as a repeater for their dispatch for the entire northwestern portion of Riverside County, including all of the cities for that area. The setup was 155.91 mobiles to the repeater on 155.295.

I really don't know how the system works, but AMR also uses a repeater on 452.6875 that repeats or simulcasts the 155.295 digital transmissions, but this UHF repeater is still analog, so it's simulcasting the digital VHF transmissions in analog. Rather confusing.

As a side note, the 155.265 frequency that I originally and mistaken posted is the AMR ambulance to hospital frequency. This frequency is a base and mobile simplex system, not a repeater, and it also is still analog with a PL of 110.9.

N6RVB, Where are you located? I'm listening to it right now with a good signal in the Riverside/ Corona area.
