Border Patrol...

Post by convE36 »

Border Patrol was in pursuit of a car tonight from what I was hearing from RSO. What system do they (Border Patrol) use? All are encrypted or something like that right? (As in no way to for us to monitor them...)

Thanks!

BP is conventional VHF-high, mostly encypted. You cant really monitor anything unless they use CLEMARS for something, and that's rare.

As Chad stated, the BP is mostly P25 encrypted.
In the Temecula/I-15/Rainbow area they operate on 170.6625 NAC 185 and rarely in the clear.
166.9125 is Wide Area 4 Santiago Peak and your best shot at hearing non-encrypted voice. You will need a digital scanner though.
