The Uniden Homepatrol-1 is a whole new approach to scanning the VHF-UHF spectrum. Clearly a product of "clean slate" thinking, the new Homepatrol-1 promises ease of use, performance and features previously not available. And programming is as simple as keying in your zip code! The new form factor permits use of the scanner as a base or portable unit. And coverage is great you can monitor from 25-54, 108-512 and 758-960 MHz (less cellular) in AM, FM and FM wide modes. TrunkTracking EDACS (N/W), LTR, Motorola (analog/mixed/digital) and APCO P25 is supported. If you have a compatible GPS, this radio will even know where it is and have the appropriate frequencies available. A micro SD card is included to store your favorite frequencies, and even record your intercepts!

The Homepatrol comes with AC adapter, rechargeable AA cells, USB cable, and quick guide. We will post additional information shortly. Availability is scheduled for early Fall 2010.

The features look kinda cool, the antenna looks flimsy as all get out and can you attach an external one?? Not sure. Good for someone who doesn't know or want to program a scanner I guess. All I know is never buy anything like this the first year it comes out, wait till they get the bugs out.

Remove the existing flex antenna and connect your external antenna. The connection is a SMA type on the unit.
It uses the same SMA connector as the 396.

One Step Closer

With the FCC's issue of a grant for the HomePatrol-1, we've passed another major milestone in bringing this revolutionary product to market. This release allows retailers to publicly offer HomePatrol-1 for sale, and also signals that we are nearing our production date on schedule.
