RVC Support 8

Post by BobT »

I'm hearing the Bautista Division stations being told to use RVC-CMD8 as a response frequency. They used to use Support 8. Then I heard them on SUPP8, referring to it as CMD8. Is this a permanent renaming of the frequency?

Support 8 was converted to a full repeater system (not sure on the correct terminology) where you can hear both Perris and units in the field. The name was changed to RVC Command 8 which is normal for the CAL FIRE nomenclature. The other support channels will be convert in the coming year. AFAIK, support 11 will not be converted as that freq. is licensed to Idyllwild fire.
