Phase I Simul Test
Scanning Fort Worth Regional Radio System http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=7349 with the BCD436HP. This system is reported as very difficult to monitor on a scanner due to simulcast issues. This recording was captured mobile driving east on 183 from 360, then South on 820 to I20, then South on 287. (See a DFW map.) Only edit was to cram the comms together, so it is not real time (real time is over an hour). Distortion on user near the beginning was due to him chewing the mic. ID Search mode with stock antenna, unit sitting in my cup holder.

What's APPening?
Uniden's Siren App is the first-ever app that allows you to directly control and listen to your scanner. Connect the BCD536HP in infrastructure mode to your home's wireless access point and access it using your smartphone or tablet from anywhere in your house...or anywhere in the world where you have an internet connection.
Or, set the BCD536HP to operate as an access point, and use your smartphone or tablet as a remote head, even when you are away from other internet connections.
The Uniden Siren app gives you freedom like never before to roam around your house or around the country, while still keeping completely in touch with and in control of your scanner. We are still working on this exciting development, so stay tuned for more information before product release.

If you read the info from the Uniden design guy, he says it's all disinformation and to disregard the rumors. The 2 yahoo groups are nothing.

They guy that works for Uniden says they are working on new stuff, but it is so far off that no details can be given because they haven't decided what they want the scanner to do exactly. Apparently someone made posts about those 2 "new" scanners trying to make Uniden look bad, or incompetent, according to him.

I don't know what I would even buy that was new for Riverside County. They can't make a digital scanner that decodes encryption, so what else is there that you can't already get?

Every P25 phase 2 system I see going in, is going in with encryption on at least the law enforcement side. So, if these new scanners are P25 phase 2 capable, there isn't going to be a whole lot to listen to in that mode.

On the bright side, fire is likely to stay NFM for the foreseeable future.
