Does Riverside Police even have a channel 6?

So far as I've ever been able to tell, ch. 6 and ch. 7 are the same frequency. One is set up as encrypted, the other is clear.

You mean Channel 7 is mixed mode? I'd think it would all be under one channel.

The channel selector switch on modern radios is called the mode switch. They call it that because its common to do things like make a single frequency operate differently, like different pl for repeater selection, or direct simplex, or encrypted vs clear.

Shouldn't it be verified as correct first?

The list here: http://www.scanriverside.com/frequencies/riverside/
...shows CLEMARS as being the eighth channel. All of the other known frequencies on that list are listed in the correct channel order, and match every "official" list that I've ever seen, with the detective frequency showing twice. Note that the frequencies for the 6th and 7th channels listed are identical, one showing a PL tone, and the other a P25 NAC, indicating a digital mode (and encrypted). This would REQUIRE a separate mode position in the radio, not a function switch programmed to enable or disable encryption. I've never seen CLEMARS referred to as CH6 in any documentation showing RPD frequencies.

There doesn't appear to be any complete channel assignment lists outside of ScanRiverside or RadioReference. Everything else out there is pathetically out of date.

Can you fill in the gap on what CH6 actually is? What channel does CLEMARS live in? Is the list here http://www.scanriverside.com/frequencies/riverside/ anywhere close to actual channel order in the radios?

Oh so it's like how Pasadena police had two Ch 1's on their VHF system.
