In Riverside County at least, what's the point of getting a new scanner? Everything is gonna be digital encrypted...you can get a $99 scanner brand new from Ratshack that will pick up everything that is left without spending $$$$$

Yeah that's right. And the BC340CRS has a big telescoping antenna that lets you pick up very far so it's just perfect knowing that everything left is on conventional systems in the VHF band.

Just an update: People are starting to receive their units according to some posts on RR.
