I didn't even know it was out. I know about the BCD436/536HP but no HomePatrol 2.

I used one for a couple of days while dialing it in for my brother. A great little rig, a bit too simple for me, but the display is excellent. With a good antenna it performs well. In my vehicle, and at home it kept up with all my other scanners 100%. Driving around SoCal like I do, it ate up and spit out everything I tossed at it, with excellent sound. If that's your cup of tea, it's a solid improvement over the HP-1

How is it different from the HP-1, and do you have to pay extra to unlock stuff like the HP-1?

It does P25 phase II and it has the extreme update stuff for an extra $50.
