It's a new system for CALTRANS.

From checking Pro96com logs the talkgroups appear to be structured by districts.

7xx TGID = Dist 7
8xx TGID = Dist 8
12xx TGID = Dist 12

I just checked the old MOT control freq (856.7375), the control data isn't there. Crap. This doesn't bode well for those of us who listen to Caltrans for road conditions.

Is there something about this system that makes it un-listenable with current scanners?

I did not spot any encryption on the system. Have not tried listening to it yet but it should work fine with any digital scanner that can do P25 trunked systems.

I can get the control channel, but nothing happens when I program the freqs in, it won't trunk.
