School Resource Officers

This forum is used for topics that specifically relate to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. This area was mostly for stuff about the old EDACS system, but new topics about RSO are also welcome.

School Resource Officers

Post by cvrules90 »

Can someone tell me on which frequencies/talkgroups school resource officers operate? From some pictures I've seen on the Palm Desert website, they have EDACS radios strapped on them so they probably talk on their local station's dispatch channel.

They don't have a special freq/TG, they just come up on the net as needed with a radio ID that denotes they are a SRO. At least that's how it is in these here parts....

OK so they monitor their station's dispatch channel and talk over the EDACS radio as needed.

So, a school resource officer in Palm Desert has his car/portable radio set to the Palm Desert station dispatch channel and uses it as needed.
