Fire Station closing

Post by scnradio »

I just left a meeting tonight and was told that they are closing down a couple of stations. Does someone know what station besides 43 that are on the list?

Can you say bs. So what is going to happen when the are no ambulance available to roll on a call in the city and the city fire dept is not a first responder fire dept. Yes is am just alittle hot under the collar about this.

According to the link below, here are the proposed budget cuts for the county fire department.

Close Station 15 (contract with Corona for fire services for that area).
Close Breathing Support 90.
Close Station 43 (increase staffing at Stations 44 and 45).
Close Truck 91.
Reduction of 3 Battalion Chiefs.
Close Trucks 17 and 76 (Board of Supervisors have already nixed this idea).
Reduce from 3 person paramedic engine companies to 2 person paramedic squads at stations 42, 51 and 63.
Various internal/money saving reductions.

I hope that's it for the station closures. They better not touch station 33 cause I plan to visit it next time I go down south.
