April 16-17: March Air Reserve Base, Calif.
Air Show at MARB in mid April. Thunderbirds and lots of other entertainment. The Thunderbirds are quite the Scanner show while the are in the air. They are really fun to listen to.The scanner activity will be great on Friday and late Sunday with all the display Aircraft flying in and out.Not sure if they will allow our Scanners on the Flightline during the open house. Some years yes and some years no. Last Air Show was 2012.
Re: April 16-17: March Air Reserve Base, Calif.
Looking forward to going, we got punked in 2014. Does anyone know freqs that are strictly for air shows at March? I have a few in an old (2008) scanner guide but not sure if they are valid any longer.
Re: April 16-17: March Air Reserve Base, Calif.
I found this on the Thunderbirds Webpage. It's dated 2015. When they were here in 2012 they used about 10 different freqs plus the Air Boss. Below must be something new.
9. MAINTENANCE RADIO FREQUENCIES
a. We will utilize our own hand-held FM radios while at your location. Please contact your base frequency
manager at least 30 days prior to our arrival to identify/avoid any potential frequency problems.
b. Our frequencies are 413.275 and 413.325. We only require one clear channel to operate. If both our
frequencies conflict with others in your area, the show site must complete one of the three following options:
(1) Make arrangements to clear one frequency for our use or,
(2) Provide us with a frequency we can use or,
(3) Supply 15 hand-held FM radios and chargers with a clear net.
