Odd traffic on 349.40 mhz

Post by sp1989 »

349.40 mhz - Unusual traffic on March Command Post freq, "Big Daddy, Big Daddy, this is RATS 77, airborne at 2145." A few seconds later they acknowledged a new callsign "Sammy 60." RATS 77 is KC-135R 64-14835 AFRC 452 AMW/336 ARS from March JARB. aircraft calling the CP always say March, or March CP, never heard "Big Daddy" or any other type of callsign like that. Wherever they went, the were back about 2 hrs later, using the RATS 77 callsign.

SP,
I've never hear the Big Daddy ID either, but I have heard the CA ANG a/c call SURF Ops and VIPER Ops at March on this freq.

I suspect it had something to do with Global Thunder 15, which was occurring when I heard this.
