LAFD Channel 5

Post by cvrules90 »

On the LAFD website it lists it as Administration/Prevention. On Radio Reference it lists it as Alternate Control/Brush/ River Rescue. Which name is correct?

So Cal Frequency Directory 3rd Edition lists it as Admin/Fire Prevention/Support, sounds like they use it for whatever they want.

I would go with whatever RR states. Governments are notoriously bad at updating their websites regularly. Scanner hobbyists usually have better info.

Coming from official info, fire prevention & inspectors use that channel, but in the case of a brush fire or river rescue incident, they get bumped off.

Ah, so it's one of those multi-purpose channels like Riverside County has Ops Net. That should be made clear as it was confusing me. One time RR said it was Admin/Prevention.
