CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire went narrowband today

Post by Kingscup »

I knew the narrowband was taking place but what caught me off guard was the CTCSS changes to RRU1 and RRU2. It took my awhile to realize that I wasn't hearing any dispatches as I had the old CTCSS. Radios have been reprogrammed for this year.

RRU1/RRU2 CTCSS- 110.9
All CDF Tac nets now have CTCSS- 192.8
RVC Tac 1-5 CTCSS- 192.8
OES White 2 and 3 have been renamed Vfire 22 and 23

The new radio plan shows RRU 3 not having a RX tone. I don't know if this is a mistake or it really doesn't have a tone. Since all radios have been programmed for the year, I expect it not to change.

RRU 3 has (or should I say had) two tones. 94.8 was for Coachella Valley fire dispatch, and 88.5 for Blythe area fire dispatch. If stuff had changed, I should update my scanner before I go down south and realize I'm not getting anything.

I can pick up RRU 3 and still comes across on 94.8 PL
We also have a Blythe scanner and it uses 88.5 PL so both are still current.

That's good news! Guess my scanner won't be effected when I go down south. I thought stuff really might have changed with the narrowbanding that happened to RVC FIRE recently.
