RPD clears out Occupy Riverside

I woke up this morning at 6am and jumped on my PRD dispatch feed and was immediately surprised at how much traffic was going on. Turns out that RPD is moving the Occupy Riverside folks out.

As of this post, they are moving a "skirmish line" forward and only allowing people with actual business into the area in the mall area between Mission Inn and 9th.

As I was leaving work this AM about 0615, I noticed about 12 or so RPD units going W/B on 9th Street. There were also news video vans parked by City Hall with their antennae up. Intrigued, I went past the area as I drove home and found a whole mess of RPD officers in riot gear, staging at the south end of the pedestrian mall. Wish I could have stayed and watched the excitement....
