Is This Normal?

I'm showing that it's going to be 81 in Palm Desert in a few days. I know that Palm Desert doesn't go above 76 or so in December so I'm a little suprised. Has this ever happened historically, or is it just a craze this year?

Temp has been into the 90s before according to this site.

For Palm Desert

Most recently in 2010 it got to 89°F

In December? That's more of an April temp.
