Does the Verdugo Fire comm center use any simplex channels in addition to the trunked system?

According to my freq guide, some of the old UHF freqs are in use as simplex non-trunked channels for fireground and training. The area Verdugo covers is way too far from the I.E. to even try to listen to, so I have no idea how often they get used, if at all.

They also simulcast Red 1 (the dispatch channel) on VHF.
