State Frequency 770.71875

This morning I caught a transmission on a state 700 MHz frequency at around 10:45 a.m. It sounded like County Fire referencing a location near Desert Hot Springs: "...[Avenida] Florencita cross of Camino Campanero, RVC Command 9, RVC Tac 10 for primary, RVC Tac 4 for secondary..."

Frequency: 770.718750 MHz
Mode: P25
NAC: $F7E

It was barely readable from my location outside Riverside County. Maybe some locals could keep track of that frequency, especially since there would be no FCC license information to confirm the usage or tell the location of the transmitter(s).

It's probably some simplex public safety frequency. I know in Maricopa County, Ariz. they have interop 700MHz frequencies which are P-25.

It was likely one-time interop usage.

That shows much dedication.

I couldn't say that I have any expectations for this frequency one way or another. It did sound as though it could have been patched audio, but I only received one understandable hit of maybe two or three hits all day. And yesterday was the first time I recorded recognizable traffic on that frequency after many months, even years, of regularly monitoring all the state 700 MHz frequencies.

Probably then a frequency that will become part of a trunked system for the whole state.

Where were you when you monitored this? You said outside RivCo, but can you nail it down a little better?

Another theory could be that it the nationwide iCall/TAC frequencies may be expanding to 700 MHz. There are a lot of emergency services switching to 700MHz over 800MHz.

By the same token, it was probably a state agency calling the fire department maybe even teh fire marshall.
