Call sign is GRIZZLY followed by a number 1-through 7 correlating to the day of the week Monday through Sunday, thus GRIZZLY 11 would be the call sign for Monday, today Thursday I am hearing GRIZZLY 42. Chase planes I.D. by either CHASE or the plane's N#, they are operated by a company called Chalk 2 which is a private contractor supplying chase planes for UAV work, they guide the UAV through crowded air space. MQ-9's were quite busy during the recent fires providing information to Cal Fire and USFS.
