Desert Hot Springs police officer and suspect injured

A Desert Hot Springs police officer has been injured and a suspect was downed by a Taser following some kind of struggle this evening, according to unconfirmed radio dispatches.
Shortly after 8:45 p.m., authorities called an ambulance to the area of Hacienda and Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs, according to unconfirmed radio dispatches.
Exact details of the incident were not immediately available.
Riverside County sheriff's deputies were responding to a call for assistance from Desert Hot Springs authorities, according to unconfirmed radio reports.
