Hello and it's great to have a local forum.I usualy hear Viper 1 and Viper 2 , which is a pair of F-16's out of March ARB on 148.125 FM during the week. This weekend I hear "Hemet Base" using the frequency to talk with airplanes .They were very busy yesterday .I believe they may have been dispatching Fire Planes or Observer Planes to fires.I'm not sure. The frequency has been pretty quiet since late this afternoon. Thanks, John in MoVal

John & the group,

148.125 (AM mode) is used by the CA ANG F-16 alert a/c out of March as an a/a and to talk to their operations office @ March.

148.125 (FM mode) is a Civil Air Patrol repeater. Input is 143.9 PL186.2. I've heard "Long Beach" and "Hemet" here. It is also used in simplex mode by CAP Explorers volunteering their service at local air shows.

The inputs has changed on the newer Civil Air Patrol narrowband repeaters.
Santiago Peak CAP repeaters was upgraded in September 14, 2009. Most inputs are 143.700 now.
There are few old repeaters using 143.9 inputs in San Diego still. Just waiting for them to upgrade it!
