Riverside Police channel 7 460.250

This channel is now digital and Encrypted. The Detectives will be using this alot more, they find it easier than using the Nextel system. They are still keeping the Nextel system because they can contact other agencies.

Any plans to go digital on the other channels? I remember ~5 years ago there was a lot of rumors floating around about digital but nothing ever came of it.

Good morning Brandon, I have checking around and found no immediate plans on a switch. However when federal money comes in is when they start planning the next move.

It seems like I remember it being encrypted with DVP a long time ago, they could turn it on and off. I could be wrong....

You are right it sounded like Donald Duck. The department got a new chief and made some changes that was one along with painting the patrol cars all white.

I remember the all white cars, when I first moved here in 1987 I saw them and thought there must be a branch of Westec private patrol here. Silly me....They also had Volvo station wagons for the K-9 units. That was pretty weird, too.

This freq was active using analog last Thursday or Friday night, using PL131.8. Must have been local as I was picking up the mobils & HT's on 465.25. Not much activity, I couldn't confirm the user or location. I'm in Riveside.
