That sounds logical....will the UHF (support 8) link in hemet lake area be active with the new command 8 ?

I wouldn't say it's a "copycat". It's more along the lines of conforming to the FIRESCOPE/California standard.
AFAIK, the support nomenclature is unique to CALFire. The Command/Tac model is used by most agencies and on incidents (including CALFire) throughout California.
