I see this is down as Rapid Intervention Crew. I made a submission on RR which part of it was to add this to their database. Is it used at all?

I hope it is never used. A rapid intervention crew is used when a firefighter goes down in a structure fire so that freq. should only be used when that happens. I don't know the pocilies of RFD but I would think it is assigned on every structure fire.

So that's basically an emergency alert channel, like the RED button.

I have logged activity on it during the Great California ShakeOut drill. Otherwise it's pretty dead but still worth keeping in the radio.

The freq list I have shows it assigned to Riverside Police Department. Where do you see that it is Fire?

If you click "Riverside" on the right where all the communities are, you will see it.

I looked at my frequency book, and it looks like this freq got put at the top of the RPD freq list by accident at the printers, separated from the FD freq's which preceded it. So I think it is a FD freq after all....

Probably because it's the lowest frequency in the city.

I have no hard facts on the official use/ assignment of this frequency in Riverside, all I can add to this conversation is what I've logged.
In 2011 I logged this as a training freq being used by RFD at their tower. I didn't make note of a PL use at that time but I did log 465.1125 as the input freq with a PL of 233.6.
In 2012 I agian logged RFD units training at the FD tower. They referred to this freq as channel 16. PL in use was 110.9, input freq was 458.425.
