I thought LA County still sounds like the tones on "Emergency"...the new RFD tones sound like what I remember from Redlands back in the 80's when I used to work at UofR...they had one tone for a crime related call, and a separate one for medical aids....

LACoFD discontinued the 2+2 tones in 1992 and those became the back-up tones. Eventually, those were retired and back up tones are now 1+1 tones. There are some 1+1 used for chief officers, specialized equipment and other things that you hear over the radio but stations don't have tones unless they are in back-up mode. The station alerting system and MDCs are triggered through over the air data channels (i think?) and then you hear the high-low sound which is more of an attention getter then actually doing something.

Is anyone able to set up an audio feed of the Riverside Fire Department? I think we need to have that set up.

A dedicated scanner
A computer (desktop or laptop) with a soundcard
and I think you'd need a cable to connect it to broadcast.
