I am not absolutely sure but I THINK that FreeScan will not work for programming a BC245 so will likely not work for the Radio Shack Pro-94 either. FreeScan details here: http://www.sixspotsoftware.com/products/freescan. Based on what I read in the RR wiki concerning the Pro-94, only the 94B model (so not the original 94 or the 94A) has a PC interface and the only software that works with it is, unfortunately, ScanCat Lite Plus. Details here: http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Pro-94.

I have an old original Pro-94 (not "A" or "B") buried somewhere that I used to use way back in the late 1990's. I don't recall it having a PC interface (which supports what the RR wiki says).

Personally, I would just program it by hand (I haven't heard much good concerning ScanCat software) and save up some money to buy a more recent model like the Uniden BC346XT (a good analog trunk tracker) which would still be somewhat less than the digital models. Info on BC346XT here: http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/BC346XT. Maybe used, a GRE PSR310 or a Uniden BR330T or a Uniden BC246T.

Pro 95's are cheap these days, reliable, and the Starrsoft software to program is FREE. Same for Pro 92 & 93, but I have no experience with those scanners. I got my Pro 95 when they first came out and it is still going strong. Check Ebay, there was one listed as buy it now for $40 not long ago.
