Operator identifying as "San Bernardino" on 163.075 referred to freq as Turquoise. Have logged NACs of $555 and $4CE. Can anyone shed some light as to who the user may be... NPS, BLM ??? This has been on the mystery list for a while.

Looking at the frequency, I'd suggest park ranger or something.

The Federal Interagency Communications Center (FICC) TG I have been hearing on the old RSO EDACS system identifies as "San Bernardino", and units in the field have 4 digit numerical callsigns, 66XX. Possible this is related? Maybe VHF high is used when EDACS is not? Just a SWAG.....I'm listening to both right now, nothing heard this AM. This is a BLM freq according to every place I've checked, but was in use in areas other than CA, Nellis AFB was one location.

My guess would've been BNSF as I know tarailways are usually 161-163.

Definitely not railroad as that range is 160-161. Besides the dispatcher identifies as San Bernardino and I have also heard them talking about Dumont Dunes, so I am thinking BLM user as well.

I see. I was conviced it was 160-163 but thank you. I don't usually scan beyond the public safety band.

163.075 BLM Law Enforcement. Turquoise is east of Baker, and in the middle of the Mojave national Preserve. They're dispatched out of San Bernardino.

And why did I always think it was a railway frequency?

It's probably just me-human error if you know what I mean.
