Local Navy Security Drill

From the Riverside, CA. Press-Enterprise today:

A security exercise at the U.S. Navy base in Norco through Friday, Feb 28, may cause delays in traffic and accessing the base and there likely will be loudspeaker announcements.

Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Norco is taking part in "Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield 2014", a drill to train Navy security how to respond to threats.

The exercise is taking place at Navy bases and installations throughout the lower 48 states, a news release from Naval Weapons Seal Beach states.

The training is the largest Navy security drill held each year and could cause increased traffic near the base, at 1999 Fourth Street.

Residents may hear announcements over the base's "Giant Voice" loudspeaker system, the release states.
(End of news article).

This might be an opportunity to finally nail down the frequencies they're using.

It sounds like other Navy installations will be conducting the drill, although this article doesn't state which ones, or if they're conducting the drill on the same dates. Might be a good idea to monitor these locations if you're near any of them.

I don't really care too much for the navy, but as you said Mike, it is a great opportunity for a little close call... Maybe get their fire department or something.
