More combat air patrol activity today, hearing Bigfoot, Phat 15 & 16, Taboo 99. NORAD Blue 15 271.00 mhz primary, Blue 17 282.60 mhz ai refueling.

All done, just watched AF1 depart on mode S, fighters are RTB at 1400 local.

FYI, the POTUS will be in San Bernardino this evening around 7:40 PM, so there will be listening opportunities on VHF and UHF.
He is then scheduled to depart around San Bernardino around 9:35PM en route to Hawaii. This will give another opportunity to catch AF1 on HF checking in with SF Radio, most likely will be using 5547 or 5574.

No POTUS CAP tonight.
Obama now departed and en route to Hawaii, I just had AF1 with SF on 5547, they were CPDLC and selcal checked AKFP.

I heard some traffic around 1400 local, did not seem like the usual training flights.

They are airborne. Very loud departure out of March. Up on 271.000 w/ Surf 11 and Bigfoot.

Heard the tail end of some traffic, sounded like they were having mechanical/electronic issues with one of the jets which they seem to have sorted out. Haven't been able to listen as much during the holidays, family is visiting.

SURFflight is airborne at 2049, advising BIGFOOT "ATP x 2, weapons safe x 2", they flew over my house heading east with afterburners lit.

127.65 mhz, March Tower clears SURF 11 flight of 2 for take off. 2049z, 271.0 mhz, SURF 11 advises BIGFOOT they are airborne, "zap alpha", then requested a "left turn, direct to Palmdale." 2058z, 348.70 mhz, SURF 11 checking in with Joshua A/D, they will be using Sage 2 airspace. SURF are the combat air patrol F-16s from March JARB.
